*** Installation of March ***  

March comes as a single self-extracting installation file. Download the file to your hard disk from www.AndreBerchtold.com, then double click on the march_300_setup.exe file and follow the instructions. Note that you must have Administrator privileges to install March on your computer.

At the end of the installation process, before using March for the first time, you have to execute the file MCRInstaller.exe located in the March directory. That will install a set of files required by March. This step is mandatory, except if you have a copy of Matlab in version 7.2 installed on your computer. In case of doubt, try to run March first by double clicking on the March icon. If it doesn't work, run the MCRInstaller.exe file.

If you want to be able to run both Matlab (any version except 7.2) and March simulteanously on your computer, you could have to modify the order of the directories in the system path variable of Windows. To do that, go to your system path variable (start/settings/control panel/system/advanced/environment variables). You probably have one directory corresponding to Matlab and one corresponding to the Matlab Component Runtime. Modify the line to make sure that the element corresponding to the Matlab Component Runtime is located BEFORE the one corresponding to Matlab.

You can then run March by double clicking on the March icon.


*** Operating system ***

March runs on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Previous versions of Microsoft Windows are not supported anymore.


*** Installating a .pdf reader ***

March help file is a .pdf document. To open it, you must have a .pdf reader installed on your computer. If you don't have one, you can download one for free at www.adobe.com. Note that the help file is large and that its opening can take some time.


*** Uninstalling March ***

To remove March from your computer, go to the Control panel, double click on Add/Remove softwares, select March and follow the instructions.
